Common questions

The app says Apple Intelligence is required. Why?

Card Notebook extracts structured fields (name, title, company, email, phone, website) from card images using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Those models ship with Apple Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26+. Without them, the app falls back to a basic extractor, but accuracy drops significantly. If your device supports it, enable Apple Intelligence in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Will my data sync across devices?

Not in v1.0. The app is on-device only. iPhone iCloud Backup includes the app's data automatically — encrypted by Apple — so a restore from backup will bring scanned cards to a new phone. iCloud sync between devices is on the roadmap.

How do I batch-scan a stack of cards quickly?

Open the Capture tab. Tap each card; the app will detect rectangles in the viewfinder and shutter automatically when a card is steady. The batch counter at the top tells you how many you've shot. After the stack, tap "Review" to see all extracted contacts on one screen — fix any field, then save.

One of my cards extracted wrong. What do I do?

Open the card in the Library, tap "Edit", and correct any field. Save. Your edits stay; the original photo is kept alongside in case you need to re-check it.

How do I export to a CRM?

Settings → Export → CSV gives you a CSV file with columns mapped for Salesforce, HubSpot, and Pipedrive. You can also export per-event from the Events tab. For a single contact, tap "Save to Apple Contacts" or share as a vCard via the iOS share sheet.

Where are my card photos stored?

Inside the app's sandbox on your iPhone, in the app's Documents folder. They never leave your phone. Deleting a card removes its photo. "Delete all data" in Settings wipes every photo at once.

Restore Purchases — what does that button do?

Card Notebook is a one-time, paid-up-front app — there are no in-app purchases to restore. The button is included to satisfy Apple's review guidelines; it confirms there is nothing to restore on your device.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. reportaproblem.apple.com
