1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Aleksei Bukhalov ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the MenoLog mobile application (the "App"). MenoLog is a private symptom tracker designed for personal tracking and doctor-visit preparation on your iPhone.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our own servers. The App does not require account creation, login, or registration. Your symptom logs, notes, HRT notes, reminders, and app preferences are stored on your device using Apple system frameworks and remain under your control on that device.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
The App may store information you choose to enter, such as menopause or perimenopause symptom ratings, personal notes, HRT-related notes, and reminder preferences. This information is used only to provide the App's features on your device, such as daily logging, history, reminder scheduling, and report export.
4. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App requests permission to send local notifications on your device. Reminder scheduling is handled through Apple's notification framework. We do not receive your notification settings or reminder content on our servers.
5. App Store Distribution
The App is free to download. Full PDF export is available through a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple using StoreKit. This purchase also opens the on-screen report summary. The App checks Apple's verified purchase information and stores the PDF unlock status on your device to provide access and restore purchases. Eligible earlier installations retain PDF access without a new purchase. We do not receive your payment details or send your symptom records to Apple as part of the purchase.
6. Reports, Backups, and Sharing
If you choose to export a report or save a backup, the App generates the file on your device. You choose where to save or share it, including any cloud-storage destination you select. We do not automatically send these files anywhere. Your App data may also be included in Apple-managed device backups, depending on your iOS settings. We do not receive or control those backups.
7. Third-Party Services, Analytics, and Tracking
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies. We do not track you across other companies' apps, websites, or services. The App does not access the App Tracking Transparency framework because no cross-app tracking occurs.
Apple may independently process certain information when you download or purchase the App or use iOS features. That processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this Privacy Policy.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your App data is stored locally on your device, you control how long it remains there. You can delete data by removing entries within the App where available or by deleting the App from your device. Removing the App may also remove locally stored App data, subject to your device and backup settings.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that we can address the issue.
10. International Users
If you are located outside the country where the Developer is based, please note that we do not operate a backend service for this App and do not intentionally transfer your App content to our own servers. Any Apple-managed processing is subject to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
